In Idaho, surveys indicate some youth binge drink in the sixth grade, and a few may even start earlier. Parent’s disapproval of youthful alcohol use is the key reason children choose not to drink. Get informed and involved. Don’t just talk to your kids; let your actions show them you really care. Keep up to date with local and state-wide organizations, campaigns, and events.
Many adults feel teen drinking and partying is a rite of passage. The fact is that teen parties are not the same as they once were. We encourage parents to face the current realities and learn why and how adults can change these dangerous social norms. Participants will tour a typical home set up to portray a teen party with local youth acting and voicing concerns expressed by teens and young adults.
